Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Melvin Brown on their loss. We celebrate his precious memories as our former teacher, co-worker, friend and neighbor of the Moore Addition of Bay City. We were blessed by his presence at this year's 33rd annual All Classes Reunion and Convention in July, during which time he shared conversations, memories, smiles, and laughter with us.

As President of the Association, I am personally grateful and thankful for the phone conversations I had with Mr. Brown prior to the reunion, and for our visit during the reunion.

An informational and organizational workshop was called by new Association President, Shirley Rollins Brown, and was held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hilliard Alumni headquarters with focus on reviewing the Constitution and Bylaws of the Association. The workshop focused also on the roles and responsibilities of different offices and their place in staying true to the stated mission and goals of the organization as set forth by the original drafters of the Association's Constitution.

This workshop was attended by newly elected officers, President - Shirley Brown, Vice President - Louis Ray, Secretary - Penita Caesar, Assistant Secretary - Natalie McKinney, and Treasurer - Vivian Robinson.
